In December 2022, as the last rains drizzled over the highlands of Da Nang, the Tri Nguyen Cares volunteer group embarked on a mission to bring knowledge to underprivileged children. More than just an educational initiative, "White Season" was a journey of compassion, spreading warmth to young minds eager to learn.

A Long Road, But No Hesitation

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City in the early morning, over 20 volunteers carried 3,000 textbooks, 5,000 notebooks, 364 online English learning accounts, and 60 scholarships, hoping to inspire students to pursue their dreams. The 900km journey was tough, with winding, rain-soaked roads, but anticipation kept spirits high.

Eyes Full of Hope

Upon arriving at Hoa Vang Primary and Secondary School (Da Nang), the children’s curious, sparkling eyes were filled with excitement. "Teacher! What did you bring us?" a barefoot girl asked, running up eagerly. Seeing their enthusiasm, the volunteers knew their efforts had meaning.

During the scholarship ceremony, Nguyen Minh Khang, a 7th grader, fought back tears: “My parents are farmers, and when harvests fail, even meals become uncertain. I once thought about leaving school to help them, but today, receiving this scholarship, I promise to study hard and not let everyone down.”

Books and online learning tools were more than just supplies, they were gateways to a new world, opening opportunities these children had never imagined.

STEM Education – Unlocking the Future

Beyond scholarships, Tri Nguyen Care introduced students to STEM education. For the first time, they assembled robots and experimented with basic programming, experiences once limited to television screens.

Teacher Le Hanh from Hoa Vang School expressed her gratitude: “Our children rarely have access to modern technology. What the volunteers brought today is truly a priceless gift, sparking dreams of a brighter future.”

A Farewell Filled With Hope

Though their time was short, parting was emotional. The children waved goodbye with handmade handkerchiefs, their eyes filled with both gratitude and hope.

"White Season" was more than a season of rain, it was a season of dreams taking root, a season of hope ignited by kind hearts.
